Open water wild swimming!
Start or end your day with the enchantment of a sunrise or sunset swim. Open water wild swimming is now available at our venue.

All swimmers must hold their own insurance against any injury that may occur whilst on our premises and while participating in the act of open water wild swimming. insure4sport is one insurer (other insurers are available)
All swimmers must be part of a swimming club or organised group and have arranged their visit with us prior to attending.
We have a Facebook page dedicated to the quarry, here you can ask questions, arrange a swim or just have a chat.
Solo swimmers are not permitted for safety reasons.
Facilities will include access to our toilets, lockers for storage of personal belongings (please bring your own padlock) and the use of our pontoon at the Eastern end of our lake.
Prices will be £3 per person.
We do have some simple rules for the safety of all our swimmers.
These include:
All swimmers must use a suitable swim float.
All swimmers must wear a high visibility item such as a swim cap
All swimmers must hold their own insurance against any injury that may occur whilst on our premises and while participating in the act of open water wild swimming. insure4sport is one insurer (other insurers are available)
All swimmers must be part of a swimming club or organised group and have arranged their visit with us prior to their visit. This can be done by emailing weardaleadventure@outlook.com

Opening at the moment are Sat and Sunday 8am – 10am and 6pm to 8pm
If these times are unsuitable or you would prefer a different day, then get in touch via our email with your preferred times and dates and we will see what we can do.
IMPORTANT NOTE
We cannot guarantee that the venue will be manned by us while you are swimming, this is why we insist that you are part of an organised group, to ensure everyone remains safe.I
